WHAT DOES CLIMATE CHANGE SERVICE OFFER?

The Ontario First Nations Technical Services Corporation (OFNTSC) offers a wide variety of services to Ontario First Nations and tribal councils. The OFNTSC’s Climate Change Service works with communities and tribal councils to:

  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • Assist First Nations in the development of community energy plans and implementation training
  • Create renewable energy studies for First Nations;
  • Assist with energy project implementation
  • Build community capacity
  • Inform First Nations and tribal councils about Ontario’s climate change mitigation policies
  • Sharing of energy conservation information and best practices

Services offered by the OFNTSC are free charge to First Nations and tribal councils in Ontario. Please note that there are costs associated to attend training sessions. Contact us today, to see how we can assist you.

WORKPLAN PRIORITIES FOR 2018 – 2019

The OFNTSC’s Climate Change Service will be working on these priorities for the next fiscal year:

  • Energy planning and implementation training
  • Renewable energy feasibility studies (two or three First Nations)
  • Energy planning pilot project
  • Carbon offset feasibility studies
  • Climate change service information sharing
  • First Nation visits for information sharing on energy conservation
